About Chris

Genealogist and Family History Researcher

SoG logo.png

Following a 38 year career in the British Army, Chris was finally able to devote his time and energy to his passion for genealogy. Focusing initially on his own family tree, which has links around the world, his services were soon in demand with wider family and friends where he honed his skills as a forensic and tenacious researcher.

He is respected for the discreet way that he engages with every client and the sensitivity with which he handles the information unearthed, which sometimes can come as a surprise. He is meticulous in his research and will always seek to corroborate information from several sources before accepting it as fact.

Since embracing the profession full time, he has concentrated his expertise on family history, migration to and from the United States and Canada, and on interpreting military records.

Living west of London, he is an associate member of the Society of Genealogists and a volunteer researcher and archivist at the Royal Artillery Archives in Wiltshire.
